When I saw that Sóley would come to E-Werk, Erlangen, I knew I have to be there. The memories of her overwhelming performance at KEX hostel during Airwaves 15 still were young. Back then, she played solo and I can’t remember a full to bursting KEX being that quiet during a set, entirely entranced from Sóleys expression and music.
Well, to be exactly, that’s a review about two concerts. Because Agent Fresco was already on stage at Ampere, Munich, the day before on December7th. And as it’s only about one hour drive from Munich to Nuremburg, what could be more obvious than to enjoy this phantastic band on two consecutive days?

I´m unconditionally in love with Emmsjé Gauti since I saw him live at Kex Hostel during Airwaves 2015. It is no coincidence that he is my number two at the Top 10 Airwaves Moments. Now I tell you which Song you should listen to. He is capable of thrilling not only rap & hip hop music fans but also those who would not normally go for this kind of music. I promise!
Recording, mixing and releasing an album is certainly not for free. And all the more if you’re only just at the very beginning of your career as a band, you might have to be especially inventive to get your expenses together. The Reykjavík based band Himbrimi, being Margrét Rúnarsdóttir, Birkir Rafn Gislason, Hálfdán Árnason, Skúli Arason and Egill Rafnsson, proved extra smart when it came to that.

It’s not only because they will perform in six different cities accross Germany next week during their European tour. It’s also because they are one of the best, if not THE best, Icelandic Rock band at the moment. That’s why this week’s On Air is the amazing Agent Fresco with “See hell”.
You can see two Icelandic artists in Berlin this week: Svavar Knutur (today!) and Lord Pusswhip on Thursday.
Thursday evening. Bearable 4 degrees in the line to “PHB Club”. There are a lot of men on their way to Postbahnhof – to see John Grant. The German queer online magazine “Siegessäule” (www.siegessaeule.de) characterises him as “Antiheld in Reinform” (Anti-hero in pure form). You should´t miss his new successful album „Grey Tickles, Black Pressure“. But before John Grant came on stage, there was fresh Icelandic music from Fufanu who played as support act.
Wednesday night. Halfway through the week. Time to power up for the second half – and there’s no better way to do this but a Vintage Caravan concert! Currently, the band is touring Europe as support for Swedish doom metal formation Avatarium.

Vaginaboys music can be described as experimental 90s electro pop with rap interludes as well as romantic sounds and melancholic interludes. The band wears masks to hide their identity. Their latest album “Icelandick” can be bought at www.cdbaby.com. You can also check it out on Soundcloud and Spotify.
